Ordinarily… Vancouver Lions Club members meet for dinner the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, at 6:30 p.m., ordinarily at the China Cook Restaurant & Lounge (formerly Bill's Chicken & Steak House), 2200 Saint Johns Boulevard, Vancouver, Washington. In July and August, families and friends join us for picnics at members homes in lieu of our regular club dinner meetings.
Dinners and picnics are social and informational gatherings. There is generally a speaker or a program, information and sign–ups about upcoming club projects, and frequent visitors and guests. Current dinner prices are $16.00, which includes food, beverage, tax and gratuity.
On the 5th Thursday of months that have five Thursdays, Club members, friends and families visit a local lounge, pub, restaurant or other public house for a voluntary, informal gathering.
The Club's Board of Directors meet at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month, in the faculty lounge, in the Irwin Building, on the campus of the Washington State School For The Blind, 2214 East 13th Street, Vancouver, Washington. Board meetings are open to all. Please contact the club president or secretary to verify the board meeting has not been moved to a different time or location if you have a matter to bring to the attention of the Board or plan on visiting.
Visitors and guests are always welcome at any meeting, dinner, project, event or other gathering. Contact the club president or secretary to verify meeting dates and times, or if you have a large group coming to visit (so we can let the cooks know!).
