he Vancouver Lions Club created a unique after–school photography class for blind and visually impaired students at the Washington State School for the Blind in Vancouver, Washington. Sharing their sensory experiences collaboratively with the photo instructor allowed for a visual photographic translation. As one of the students previously said, “I'm happy to share what's in my minds eye.” The images below are a few of what you can now experience.
Photos taken by students from those classes are available for a suggested donation to the Vancouver Lions Foundation of $25.00 for a large print (approximately 8 1/2” x 11”) or $15.00 for a small print (approximately 5”x 7”). Print sizes can slightly vary due to image cropping.
The Vancouver Lions Foundation is the charitable arm of the Vancouver Lions Club. The Foundation is recognized as a §501(c)(3) Charitable Organization. The Foundation's §501(c)(3) tax identification number (it's “EIN”) will be provided on receipt of a donation or on request.
100% of the proceeds from donations to the Foundation are returned to the community for vision, huger, diabetes, childhood cancer, environment, youth, disaster relief, and general humanitatian needs.
You may order the prints shown below from any Vancouver Lion. Or, go high–tech and order prints by email to studentphotos@vancouverlions.org. We will need the identification number(s) of the photo(s) you want, the size(s), your contact information (phone and email), and your shipping address (the address you want us to ship the print(s) to). You will be contacted with payment instructions and options.
Domestic shipping by United States 1st class mail is included in the suggested donation prices. We can accomodate other shipping methods at your request and cost. Expect no more than 10 days for delivery.
